Signed “Graham Sutherland.” in pencil l.r., numbered “69/77” in pencil l.l. Etching on laid paper, plate size 5 5/8 x 5 1/8 in. (14.0 x 13.0 cm), framed. Condition: Pale foxing, mat burn, not examined out of frame. Estimate $1,500-2,000 Out of the frame the sheet is a laid paper with partial watermark, and measures 11 5/8 x 7 3/8 inches. The margins are cockled. The image is gently light-strick. There’s mat burn and toning to the rest of the sheet. Pencil annotations to the lower margin. Upper corners on verso have old hinges and residue beneath current hinges, and the new hinge stablizes a small tear near the upper left corner.
