COLLECTION OF MORE THAN 100 SKETCHBOOK DRAWINGS BY WILLIAM AND LUCY L’ENGLE First Half of the 20th Century Includes three sketchbooks, two partially intact and one with cover signed “L’Engle” and with inscriptions, plus loose sketchbook pages of various sizes. Most are unsigned pencil sketches of Martha Graham dancers and female nude studies but also includes a few landscapes, portrait studies, an interior study and three Harlem-related jazz scene sketches, one with color. One sketchbook page of a female nude signed and dated lower right “L’Engle. ’24”. Sheets from 11.5″ x 8.5″ to 17″ x 14.5″.
